Broward single sign on is a secure cloud-based identity management platform that allows students and faculty to login once to access most of their school apps. This platform also provides self-service password reset.
When Tony Casciotta, CIO and VP of IT at Broward College, began searching for a new access management solution, he quickly realized they needed a platform that could provide all the key functionalities. These included provisioning and Multi-Factor Authentication, self-service password reset, Single Sign-On (SSO), and seamless Workday integration.
Clever Broward
Clever Broward is an online learning broward single sign on platform that helps students and teachers access educational resources from a single location. This platform combines data analytics with personalized learning and collaborative tools to improve the educational experience for students in Florida. It also integrates with existing educational systems, allowing students and teachers to access educational materials and applications from a central location.
The single sign on system, or SSO, enables users to log in to multiple educational resources and applications with one username and password. This reduces the time it takes to access important information and eliminates the need for multiple accounts. In addition, SSO provides a user-friendly, easy-to-navigate interface that simplifies the login process for students and teachers.
As of January 7, 2019, Broward County Public Schools switched from its previous SSO vendor, Sailpoint, to a new single sign on provider, Clever. This change may cause some problems for students, who have become accustomed to using SSO to login to their school’s computers and devices.
However, this switch has been made to help improve the overall experience for students. Many of the same features of SSO are still available in Clever, including passwords and usernames that are already registered with SSO.
In addition, Clever uses badges to log in instead of typing in a password. Badges are distributed to students at their school, which they can scan with their laptop’s webcam. Once the badge is recognized, the student will be directed to their launchpad.
The platform is free to use and offers a range of useful features, including personalized learning and a variety of collaborative tools. Additionally, it is fully integrated with Broward County Public Schools’ existing systems and programs, ensuring that the platform seamlessly fits into the school ecosystem.
Its focus on personalized learning ensures that all students receive the educational support and resources they need to succeed, no matter their learning style or ability level. It also allows students and teachers to share their work in real-time, enabling collaboration between both parties.
Although Clever Broward is a great tool for boosting the educational experience of students and teachers, there are some drawbacks to the platform. These include privacy concerns, training and support issues, and a dependency on technology.
SSO Launchpad
The SSO Launchpad enables students and staff to log in to many of the applications they use at Broward County Public Schools from one single location. This makes it easier to access applications and sites from home, and it also offers self-service password resets.
To start using the SSO Launchpad, you will need to register for an account. This is a one-time process and it takes about 5 minutes to complete. You’ll also need to install the SSO Launchpad browser plug-in.
After registering, you will need to set up your login ID and password. These will be used for all of your logins in Launchpad and on the apps you’ll be able to access through the SSO Launchpad.
For security purposes, you will be required to answer a set of questions after logging in for the first time. This is a way to make sure that you’re who you say you are and that you’re not a spammer.
When you’re done, you’ll have a new login ID that will be used for all of your logins on the SSO Launchpad and on the apps you’ll access through the SSO Launchpad. This will make it easier for you to access the apps that you need from home, and it will also save you time because you’ll no longer have to call the Service Desk to update your password.
You can also access your SSO Launchpad from any computer with internet connection. Just make sure to log out and close your browser after you’ve finished using it.
During the sign-on process, you’ll be asked to provide alternate authentication (also known as strong authentication). This means that you’ll be required to enter your password and then select three security questions from the drop-down boxes. Once you’ve entered the correct answers, you’ll be able to access all of your Broward SSO logins.
You’ll have to update your organization settings if you want to use the SSO Launchpad with another HighBond instance. The company name that identifies your instance must match the company name that identifies the HighBond instances you want to access with your SSO Launchpad login ID.
Self-Service Password Reset
As part of Broward’s single sign on (SSO) initiative, users can now reset their own passwords through the Self-Service Password Reset tool. This feature allows you to access your work or school account if you forgot your password.
Using self-service password reset eliminates the need for administrators to manually reset passwords and can help increase employee productivity and reduce service desk call volume. It is also a cost-effective way to address identity security challenges and support application password changes.
Before you can use self-service password reset, your administrator must enable it for your organization. To do this, click Create a new configuration in Storefront.
Once you’ve enabled it, you’ll be able to enroll end users into SysAid Password Reset by answering security questions or by using a verification method such as a one-time code sent to their mobile phone. IT admins can control and customize the security questions and mark certain ones as mandatory, or they can set up a default group of answers.
To set up the first authentication method, you’ll need to provide your email and CAPTCHA text and select whether you want to verify via phone or email. You can do this through either a web browser or the app.
After you’ve verified your identity, you’ll be prompted to choose a new password. Once you’ve completed the password reset, you’ll receive a notification that your new password has been set.
Next, you’ll need to provide information for the second verification method. Depending on your administrator’s settings, you may need to go through this process again, adding your info for another verification step.
If you’re an administrator, you can set up your own password reset for your employees and other members of the organization by following the Deploy Azure AD self-service password reset tutorial. Alternatively, you can also contact your IT staff to turn this on for you.
Before you can enable password reset, you need to create a central store, Data Proxy Account, and Self-Service account. You can find these in the left pane of the user configuration screen. You can then add the configuration to an existing or new user.
Security Questions
The Single Sign On (SSO) process allows Broward students to log in once to access a variety of applications and resources. This enables them to save time, increase efficiency and achieve success.
The SSO system also offers security measures to protect student accounts from hackers. This includes a new feature that allows students to set up alternate authentication methods. These methods require the student to answer security questions, which are unique and only they know. These answers are hard to guess and can help protect their account.
To use this feature, students must first navigate to the SSO Launchpad webpage and follow the instructions. The site will guide them through the steps needed to setup their alternate authentication options. They must also install the browser plugin to make this feature work properly.
After completing the initial login, users will be asked to set up three security questions. The security questions will be used to verify their identity and help protect their account from theft and fraud.
These security questions will be difficult for scammers to figure out, but they are easy to set up and use. The SSO system even offers a self-service password reset tool that can be accessed from anywhere.
This feature is a great way to increase the efficiency of the SSO system and keep it secure from hackers. It will also ensure that students only have to log in once and won’t need to remember multiple usernames and passwords.
The sso system has many benefits for students, teachers and staff. Its advantages include single sign on, easy navigation and personalized learning. Its platform also provides a central location for all the learning resources and applications available to students.
The single sign on system from Broward is an excellent example of how technology can improve the way schools operate. Its sso system is one of the most efficient and secure platforms to date, and it will continue to evolve to meet the needs of its users. It will also be able to offer more features and services in the future.
